Today, May 13, is International Cocktail Day! Did you know that this world-renowned holiday was founded by bartender and prominent Czech publicist Alexander Mikšovic? The first celebration took place in 1999
and we boldly continue it. Real connoisseurs know that they absolutely mix the most perfect drinks right in the destinations where they were born. So accept the invitation to travel around the cocktail world.
- American Queens
If you look for the true origin of cocktails, you will find that their cradle became the USA more than 200 years ago. For example, try mixing the not quite well-known Queens cocktail with pineapple juice. The
Englishman Harry Craddock was responsible for his fame in the 1930s. He later wrote it in a famous cocktail book, which he published himself. You can best enjoy an unadulterated Queens cocktail right in New York.
- How to mix Queens:
4.5 cl of London dry gin
1.5 cl dry martini
1.5 cl sweet martini
3 cl pineapple juice
Put ice and all ingredients in a shaker, "shake out" and pour into a martini glass through a sieve. Garnish with lemon zest, a piece of pineapple or mint.
- Italian Bellini
If you are more of a fan of classic flavors, head to Italy for a cocktail named after the famous Italian painter Giovanni Bellini. A great modern combination is Bellinni with French liqueur Chambord. The taste of the
liqueur consists of ripe raspberries and blackberries marinated in cognac and other spices sweetened with honey. Finally, this essence is combined with vanilla extract and citrus peel.
- How to mix Bellini?
5 cl peach puree
10 cl prosecco
chambord - only a few drops are enough
Pour peach puree into a flute glass and add prosecco. Drop the chambord at the end.
- Mexican Margarita
Do you long for the perfect beach drink? Then you will fall in love with the original Mexican Margarita for the first sip. You can add a slice of chili and a sprig of coriander to the shaker to diversify the taste.
- How to mix Margarita?
4.5 cl tequila (ideally reposado)
1.5 cl of fresh lime juice
2 teaspoons agave syrup
Put all the ingredients in an ice shaker, shake and pour through a sieve into a short glass with ice. In the original version of the cocktail, the rim is moistened with lime and soaked in salt. Use lime as a garnish.
